BIM
BIM (building information modeling), a digitalization trend in construction area. And I think in that logic, our work can be called “product information/knowledge modeling”. I think it is useful to learn how they balance the platform and problem domain in their job and how their work contributes to the platform.

- IFC (Industry Fundimental Class) 不能涵盖施工阶段的信息,因为施工阶段的有些信息不是显式的,不易表达,还有一些与设计与结构阶段耦合,所以难以全部数字化。
- 对于系列化的、较标准的建筑,设计与结构阶段已有较高的数字化,似乎也有一定程度的自动化,但似乎还是没有大规模应用,因为还有一些阶段并没有集成起来。
- 我的机械产品设计流程数字化可以提供一个平台,将各个操作数字化、规范化,能自动化的就自动化、不能的交给人工,人工处理完后继续回到自动化流程。

- What is a model?

- Different domains (architectural design, structural and HVAC engineering, construction tasks, FM…) have different models ==because they perform different tasks==.
- The shared models must cover (at least) the parts necessary for the desired purpose(s) such as design coordination.
- However, defining the content and representation in a homogeneous way is not a simple task because the content and representations in different domain models are very different.
- Conclusions: identify the valuable core of the different professions and separate it from “old rubbish”. We must digitalise the documents.
